Luluk Hadiyanto – Imam Sodikin Irawan and Biao Chai – Zhendong Guo advance in Thailand Open GP Gold
Indonesia’s Luluk Hadiyanto – Imam Sodikin Irawan and China’s Biao Chai – Zhendong Guo have advanced to the Men’s Doubles second round of the Thailand Open GP Gold 2011, on Thursday, June 9.
In the first round, Luluk – Imam Sodikin got rid of Chinese Taipei’s Chung Jen Chen – Yen Jui Lin in three-sets of 40 minutes, whereas, Biao – Zhendong tamed Rupesh Kumar – Sanave Thomas of India, in a straight-set fight of just 30 minutes.
The Indonesians started their game in a superb manner, as they quickly established a good lead of 11-8 in the first part of the game. Luluk – Imam Sodikin maintained the advantage over their opponents in the first game and won it by a good difference of
21-16, in just 12 minutes.
Chung Jen – Yan Jui played superb badminton in the second set, where they continued to control the game. The Indonesians lost their control over the rallies, as they became slow in the second set, which helped their opponents to play an attacking game. Luluk
– Imam Sodikin lost the second set by a margin of 17-21, in just 15 minutes.
The third set displayed the class of Luluk – Imam Sodikin, as the duo spared no room for their challengers to find the gaps. The Indonesians finished the game in just 13 minutes with a 21-15 score. The 40-minute match concluded with a 21-16, 17-21 and 21-15
margin.
In another Men’s Doubles match, China’s Biao – Zhendong showed no mercy to the Indian pair of Rupesh – Sanave, in a straight-game fight. In the first set of the match, the Indian pair tried to compete against the Chinese duo, but they failed to match the
speed of their opponents. The Chinese shuttlers grabbed the opening set in just 13 minutes with a stunning score of 21-8.
In the following set, Biao – Zhendong continued their dominating run in the match by playing high quality badminton and won the second game with a comfortable difference of 21-14, in 17 minutes. The 30-minute straight-set fight ended with a 21-8 and 21-14
margin.
