  1. As part of our family farm we grow trees. In the U.S. the lumber industry is heavly regulated and replanting is part of every harvest plan. Trees are a renewable resource. Pulp wood trees are a 10-15 year crop and hard woods are a 20-50 year crop.

Most of the work is mechanized and injuries are much more uncommon than in the past. Pay is usually good but hours can be long and locations remote. Peope who do this type of work do it because they like the freedom and being outdoors.

  2. The bad is you can cut off your own limbs instead of a tree's...also you can get crushed....and your often in the middle of nowhere with nary a Starbucks to be found anywhere...the good...your often in the middle of nowhere with nary a Starbucks to be found anywhere...

  3. Logging can be a really fun job,as long as you don't forget the dangers involved.falling trees is an art that take a lot of trial by error(believe me Ive hung my share of trees)Pay is wide spread depending on your tasks. Most often pay is determined by tree length not hours worked.

  4. A-. They keep paper products, furniture and the like coming available to all of us who need these products.

    B-. Deforestation (global warming).

C-. No, they are not bad people, just people doing a job.

Those that are bad are those individuals or companies that could care less for the environment and do nothing to avoid it.
