Lumina passenger side door only closes when locked?

Question

I have had this problem for quite some time now. Everytime I close my passenger side door on my lumina it doesn't latch unless the lock button is pressed before it is closed. Once closed it can be unlocked and remain closed, and can be opened using the handle from either the inside or outside of the car. Any suggestions?

WD-40 on the lock spray into the door opening to cover all the internals as the dust and moisture are working together to hold the lock open

your lock may be damaged or needs fixing you might find an instructional on how to fix it on youtube
