  1. man the SAME thing happened to me a week ago.

unfortunately unless it is a brand new camera and the value is still pretty high on it, it is not worth paying to get the lens fixed. It would be more cost efficient to buy a newer camera than getting  the old one fixed. I've been to a few camera shops and thats the verdict. Also I've been looking online for spare parts(a new lens) and the cost of it along with paying someone to put it in just isn't worth it.

sorry to bring you the bad news :(

maybe maybe you can get lucky perhaps you can find a place to fix it for cheap. i've also heard case where some people <gently> try to push the lens "back on track" but most likely it wont do anything.

you can try to sell the camera on ebay ***noting the lens is stuck*** and try to get as much money possible. a LOT of people drop their camera resulting in a stuck lens and try to get rid of it that route.(once again showing that fixing the lens is too costly). then you can use the $20-$30 you might get to pay for a new camera.

if you are in the market for a new camera may I suggest the

Olympus Stylus 770. it is what imma buy since it is shockproof waterproof freezeproof and crushproof: a pretty wise investment for people who are accident prone with electronics
