Lumps in cat stomach, what is it?

I took my cat to the vet today because he wouldn't eat or drink. When I took them there, the vet took him back and told me he had a lump in his stomach and that I should tell him goodbye because they have to euthanize him. If I wanted to find out what it was they would have to run tests and that would cost me a lot so i didnt.

What was wrong with him? He was only 2 years old.

  1. My heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of your beloved kitty.

Kitties do develop cancer in different parts of the body including the stomach.

I lost my beautiful kitty, Kelley, to cancer the end of April.  She had a sizable lump in her stomach and several smaller ones in her large intestine.  She too had quit eating.  She was 15 years old and had been diabetic for 6 years.  I was devastated with this terrible diagnosis.

Knowing how sick she was and so miserable not being able to eat, I chose to euthanize her too.  I kindly, gently and peacefully released her from her ill body just as you did with your kitty.

I know you are still stunned by the events of this day, but don't dwell on your kitty's death..rather rejoice his life and the joy, happiness and amusement he brought to you.  Reminsce the happy times before he was ill.

    Purrs to you.

  2. It maybe a tumor and tumors can be cancerous. So your kitty may have cancer. If he has a tumor it may not be to late and maybe vets can remove the tumor before any thing spreads.
