My son is 19 months old and a few weeks ago we noticed that when he turns his head to the side or when he tenses up from excitment, lumps show up on both sides. Last week we took him to the Dr. and she said that his lymph nodes were definitly swollen on the sides of his neck in a chain and also in his groin area there were a few nodes swollen. She said that without other symptoms, there was no need to do blood work or other testing. I can't stop looking at other kids necks and noticing that there's does not do that. I'm stressing out and feeling like I should just get the blood work done (which would be the cbc test) and just getting the answers now. The Dr. said that I could if I chose too. She also wants for us to just wait and see if they get bigger or if any other symptoms show up before getting the test...but I don't want to chance it. My son is not sick at all right now, no teething, nothing. So there is no reason for the lymph nodes to swell from an infection. Have any of you gone through this with your children? What was the outcome...if you don't mind my asking? Do you recommend anything to me? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
