Luna Rossa skipper Max Sirena ready for 2011 Extreme Sailing Series Act 6 at Trapani
Act 6 of 2011 Extreme Sailing Series will be featuring 11 Extreme 40 yachts at Trapani in Sicily Island, Italy. All teams are ready to set sail on Trapani waters under ideal weather conditions.
Act 2 winner and Act 5 runner-up, Luna Rossa are preparing to challenge the toppers, Emirates Team New Zealand, who are just one point ahead of them.
Luna Rossa skipper Max Sirena is ready to lead his team in Trapani and clinch the Act 2 victory. The Italian team sailed tremendously in the previous Act and finished second in the event.
However, in the overall standings of Extreme Sailing Series, they are on second spot with 43 points.
While speaking to the local media about his aim, Sirena said, “The beautiful thing about Trapani is the spectacular scenery and is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever sailed in.
And above all the people are very welcoming and warm and we expect a good reception there.”
He further added, “I think it will be a very windy event, having seen how it was last year and that is what we expect this year. We hope to arrive there in good shape to sail well.”
The Extreme Sailing Series Act 6 will be supported by Telecom Italia and the Italian TV channel RAI TV will be broadcasting the last two days of the event. Moreover, a live commentary
will also be available on the official Extreme Sailing website and many other sailing portals.
