Does anyone know when the next Waning moon is (in the southern hemisphere) ?? :S

    Technically speaking, the Moon begins waning one minute after the Full Moon occurs, however, most people consider it to be a Waning Moon on the night following a Full Moon.

  2. It will be waxing for two weeks from last night, then, the night after it is "full", it will be waning again for two weeks, until it is "new" again.

    A waxing moon is "getting  bigger" after a "new moon", a waning moon is "getting smaller" after a "full moon".

    This explanation is in layman's terms in that it's truly impossible to observe a truly full moon, but that's a question for another day! :-)
