  1. There are quite a few vegetarian alternatives in many resturants so...just about anywhere will do. To be sure though you can call ahead.

  2. Indian definately.  Some people for some reason don't like the smell.  Due to India having a large Hindu population and most immigrants want to eat food of their culture many owners of Indian restaurants have much more vegetarian options then many other locations.  If your not afraid to try something new its perfect.  Try  Palak Paneer as a personal recommendation kinda tastes like spinach but with the right combination of other spices to make it differant.  Also be careful if your not used to spicy food ( when they say spicy with most standards(90%) it is very spicy)

  3. why not ask her?  there's nothing wrong with showing an interest in learning about her eating lifestyle and preferences.

good luck!  i hope the date is fantastic wherever you go!

  4. mexican would be great! she can get bean burritos or veggie fajitas...there are plenty of options for vegetarians at mexican restaurants.

other great cuisines to try are anything asian, indian, or italian.

have fun on your date =)

EDIT:  i forgot to add that you are doing a great thing by trying to  find a restaurant that suits your date's needs....she'll appreciate that!

  5. lots of cool taco places have great veggie burritos

  6. vegies have lots of options at most chain restaurants. I'm  a vegetarian & have never found a place I can't eat. if you want to be very attentive to her vegetarianism, search yp.yahoo.com for vegetarian restaurants near you. Thai and Indian places usually have lots of meat-free options.

  7. A lot of nice Mexican restaurants have vegetarian plates.

  8. Pretty much every restaurant has vegetarian choices, like salad, soups, pasta, ect. Maybe take her to a place that has things like that. And tell her not to be afraid to ask the waiter/waitress if there are any animals ingredients in any of the food.

  9. Ethnic places are usually good--Chinese, other Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern.  As someone else suggested, www.happycow.net is an excellent site that will help you find vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants in the area.  If you go Mexican, make sure they don't cook the rice with chicken stock.

And really, it can't hurt to ask her what her favorite places are and take her there.

  10. Depends on where you live, 80% of American restaurants now serve some type of vegetarian dish. If she is a vegan, I think she'd prefer a veggie restaurant. Check out http://www.happycow.net for a detailed list of veggie/veggie-friendly restaurants around the world. If you're going to be going to a chain restaurant, check out: http://www.vegtaste.com/main/posting.php... for veggie options.

  11. meat buffet

  12. As many have already said, most places are fine for vegetarians.. (except maybe a steakhouse:-), and other than an Indian restaurant, you could go for Chinese, Mexican, Turkish, Lebanese, Thai, Italian (so a Chipotle, Olive Garden type place are also nice). I think your company is what your friend will enjoy most and food will be secondary (not unimportant). A good idea would be to be at a street/place where there are at least a couple of options and you could let your friend could pick.  Also, I have found that chefs are often willing to suggest alternatives. So I wish you a nice lunch.

  13. PITA JUNGLE

  14. i'd actually skip the mexican unless you know she likes it... her only options will really be beans... bean burrito, tac, whatever or like a cheese quesadilla.... if you get lucky or know a good place they might have more but still... not food i want to eat on a date.

how about an italian place?  doesnt' have to be a fancy one... but that way she can have some more safe options.... all sorts of pastas and eggplants and flat bread pizzas and such.

if you KNOW an "american" place serves a veggie burger at least you can do that, but otherwise she might not have a lot of options...

of course she can find at least one option anywhere... it's just if you want a place where she might have more options....

    or asian food... veggies/tofu combos....

  15. Mexican places in particular have many veggie dishes so that's a good choice. In Florida there's a place called 100% Natural that is amazing for a vegetarian (speaking from experience). They have a website but it's in Spanish. Either way, Mexican is a good choice.

  16. Chinese or Thai are good bets - as long as they don't cook the veggie stir-fry with chicken broth or something like that.

If you two eat sushi, that's a great place to get some delicious fare that you both can eat.

If she eats cheese, Mexican might work. Quesadillas, rice, veggie fajitas will be okay for her. BUT if she doesn't eat cheese, she might be hard-pressed for something filling and good.

As long as you don't take her to chain restaurants (such as Applebee's, Ruby Tuesday, TGI Fridays, etc.), you will be okay. As a general rule, those places don't have a lot of veg-friendly food.

    Have a good date!
