  1. Make your lunch the night before.

It can really be anything - depending on access to a microwave.

Pasta salad and a hamburger patty.

Just make what you want and get it ready the night before and you will be good to go.

  2. Do you like guacamole or salsa? One of these in a container with a baggie of corn chips would be healthy and quick.

I love tomatoes so sometimes I make a big bowl of bruschetta during the week and bring small containers of it with me to work. Its good with triscuts or pita bread, etc. Here is a great recipe to start with http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Double-Toma... but you can play around with it and its still delicious!  I just eat it cold with a cracker or bread--no need to broil it with cheese. And I dont always use the sundried tomatoes, and I use dried basil instead of fresh if i dont have any on hand.

What about soups? Of course this only works if you have access to a microwave. I did at my high school but I dont know if that is ordinary.

Hummus and pita bread is pretty good and easy to prepare.

I always bring things like yogurt, nuts, sunflower seeds, fresh fruit, etc to eat on the side too.

Good luck and have a great year!

  3. you can alwasy make your lunches the night before thats what i do since i am not even remotely a morning person.

i make salads with whatever i have on hand keep the dressing and croutons on the side to add when im ready to eat.

i make wraps without dressing i again add that when im ready to eat.

sandwiches do work too just dont put the dressing (mayo/ mustard) directly ON the bread put it in between the filling that way your bread soesnt gt soggy.

    jello/pudding cups

    fruit

    chopped veggies

all prepared the night before and put in little baggies or containers.

i also keep a few different snacks like rice crispie treats on hand to toss in my lunch.

on the wekend i stock up on vitimin waters and small gatorades for lunch too.

  4. Pita bread is really good, and you can cut it into triangles and bring a container full of salsa, hummus, or tabuli  (you can buy those at the store and just put them into a small plastic tub the night before, grab it out of the refrigerator.

Baby carrots are good, you can bring a small tub of peanut butter or ranch dressing, again, put it in the tub the night before.

Peaches, bananas, and apples are good, you can wash them the night before, then just put it in your bag in the morning

Yogurt jars are easy and good, you can eat them with mix-ins like granola that you put in a small ziploc the night before

Nachos are easy, if you get the round restaurant style, put them in a ziplock.  Then put salsa and maybe some cooked ground beef or refried beans in a plastic container the night before, just dip the chips into it.

Wraps are good to make the night before.  Get a tortilla, put meat, veggies, spreads or whatever very thin on the tortilla and wrap it up like a spiral tube.  Cut it into circles, keep in the fridge overnight, put in plastic tub

  5. Not a morning person and want a tasty lunch...no problem! Have your parents get you a bag of boneless skinless chicken b*****s, and good them all up (a bag typically has 6-8 b*****s in there).

    1. Thaw them in the sink (never in the microwave, they taste awful).

    2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    3. Put aluminum foil over a baking sheet (saves clean-up time).

    4. Arrange chicken b*****s on the baking sheet.

    5. Figure out some flavors you'd like during the week and season. Have a couple Mexican, a couple Italian, a couple Thai or Chinese if you like, a couple with some greens like thyme and oregano.

    6. Bake 16 minutes, remove from oven.

    7. Once cool enough to handle, chop chicken into bite-sized chunks. Put into separate containers, so you should have 6-8 chicken breast containers.

In the morning, make yourself a salad and top with the the chicken. This part is real easy, just flavor it so the overall dish is similar to the chicken's flavors, don't just plop the chicken onto some lettuce :) Get a bag of fresh spinach or a bag of mixed greens. For the Asian one, add bean sprouts, cilantro, and cubes of tofu if you like. Bring an Asian dressing (if you need it), or try using sweet chili sauce (not hot, it's just fabulous).

For the Italian one, you can make some pasta the night before and have a cold pasta salad. Add olives, a little olive oil, some balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and some fresh parmesean or other hard Italian cheese. Top with chicken the night before, and take it to school the next day.

For Mexican, I like to start with the greens for the salad, then crush some tortilla chips on top. Add cilantro and a mix of some drained "Mexican corn" and drained black beans. This is so tasty. Squeeze a little lime juice, and if you need dressing, try a southwest ranch (or make your own with fat free ranch and enough chipotle seasoning until you get the flavor you like).

That's how I do my meals: themes. I find some flavors I'm feeling that day, and just go for it. These meals are fast, flavorful, fresh, and healthy...and they seriously taste awesome! All your friends will be jealous and ask if they can move in with you to eat your cooking :)

  6. you can pack a salad

make a sandwich with sliced turkey/chicken

    add salad

    fresh tomato

    mustard

    ketchup

    pepper

    bring pickles

    *

  7. Try making things that will hold overnight in the fridge so all you have to do is stuff it in your bag and go!

Things like Turkey or cooked Ham lunch meat spread a little cream cheese on it and wrap around a  pickle spear. Veggie sticks and dip, have your mom get some small plastic containers put in potato salad, pasta salad etc. I send lots of left overs with my son a grilled chicken breast, a bratwurst, or even hotdog. He doesnt care for sandwiches or the usual lunch fare, but really enjoys the things I have mentioned above.

  8. sounds like we're in the same situation- I'm going to 7th grade too...email me kaygurl_12@ymail.com if you have any good ideas for lunches and I'll email you too...

  9. Get yourself a wide mouth thermos and have ravioli, soup, or anything hot.  It adds variety and something different than a cold sandwich.

I like to add a dill pickle spear, or carrot sticks with a container of ranch dressing for dip instead of chips.  It adds the crunch and is more nutritious.

Salads are good, too.  Just don't add the dressing until you are ready to eat.

  10. lol i hate school lunches cos i dont eat bread i usually have a piece of fruit and some chrips or something and have toast when i come home but if you want some sandwich ideas try this
