for example: if a take out resturant offers a specific special for lets say $6.00 for a steak sandwhich and fries for lunch,,,must order by 4:30pm

but,,,,,,,the dinner menu says $8.00 for a steak sandwich and fries for dinner,,,,,,,,,after 4:30 pm

its the same item,,,,,,,why is one less expensive ????

my husband says,,, " hmmm,,,,,,do they put more meat on the sandwich for dinner menu??"

  1. not really-no. i think it's cause people usually get hungry around dinner time-therefore more willing to pay for it.

  2. Usually no.  People just pay more at dinner, and are willing too.  It is one of those things most people do not think about for some reason.

  3. Its probably because it has bigger portions...and maby it comes with a different side dish.

  4. lunch! Dinner can get pretty costly

  5. I agree with Maybe maybe

  6. Portions are smaller at lunch time than at dinner.

  7. It really depends on the restaurant. For example, if I wanted to get more customers at lunch time than at dinner time, I would discount the food a bit during that time.

The portion could also be smaller at lunchtime, which is why it might be cheaper.

  8. During dinner, there are more people, so they want to make more money. At lunch, not a lot of people eat, so they make it cheap, so they can attract more people and wouldn't have an empty restaurant.

  9. usually the dinner menu's items are a bit larger. the portions are bigger but not much.
