  2. I don't know who told you that but it's not true.  Go ahead and eat them.  If not, just put vinegar and oil on your salad.

  3. I make a honey mustard dressing that is really good. I use prepared mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar and salad oil. It's easy and delicious. Actually the amount of artificial sweetener in bottled dressings are not enough to hurt you (if they actually hurt you, I don't believe they do). If you like garlic you could mix oil, vinegar and a couple cloves of garlic together for a good dressing.

  4. RANCH DRESSING

NY ranch style buttermilk dressing or mix the following until smooth:

    1 c. mayonnaise

    1/2 c. sour cream

    1 tsp. garlic powder

    1 tsp. dill weed

    1/4 c. milk

    1 tbsp. parsley

    1 tsp. onion powder

1/4 cup buttermilk may be used instead.

    ------------------------

    THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING

    1 c. mayonnaise

    1/3 c. ketchup

    1/4 c. pickle relish

    1 tbsp. chopped onion

    1 hard cooked egg, chopped

Mix all ingredients together well. Cover and chill. Makes 2 cups.

To make Russian Dressing add some chili sauce to the Island dressing.

    ---------------------

    Creamy French Dressing

    1 cup ketchup

    1/2 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise

    3 tablespoons cider vinegar

    3 tablespoons honey

    2 tablespoons water

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 teaspoon lemon juice

    1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

    1/4 teaspoon salt

In a blender or food processor, combine all the ingredients; cover and process until blended. Store in the refrigerator.

    -----------------

or you could use cottage cheese or  olive oil and vinegar instead of a dressing...

    Hope this helps! =)

  5. balsamic vinegar and a bit of olive oil.

  6. you know, i never use a dressing. i don't know why but dressings seem to take away from the crunch of the lettuce. without it your saving calories.....
