Lunches that are not boring?

Question

I have been having to make lunches (to go) for my wife and I don't want them to get boring.

Anyone have any new ideas so they don't get to be boring?

Try this:

Mexican Monday: Latin rice with beans and chicken

Texas Tuesday: BBQ ribs and Texas toast and fries

Wonderful Wednesdays: any lunch with love notes

Turkey Thursdays: Turkey sandwich with all the fixings

Fried Fridays: fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn

Does she have a microwave to use?  

If not, use different kinds of breads and toppings for sandwiches, instead of having the same old white bread every day. Hard rolls, pita, french breads, wheat, rye, pumpernickel... lots of different choices.

Freeze individual containers of yogurt, and they'll thaw by lunch time.  Granola is good to stir into plain flavored yogurt.

Crackers and cheese

Use different kinds of fruit, and include some dips, like caramel or peanut butter for apples.

You can do fruit/yogurt smoothies in the blender, and pack them in a thermos container.

Hot soups in a thermos - but put hot water in the thermos, then pour it out, before you put the soup in.  It preheats the thermos, and keeps the soup hot longer.

Veggies with blue cheese or ranch dip.

Pack a salad in a large tupperware, with the dressing in a separate container.

Don't forget to throw in little love notes.  She'll never get bored with lunch that way. :)

If you have a thermos that you can put into your lunches,here are some ideas for your thermos:

Macaroni and Cheese

Lasagna

Soup

Chili

Beef Stew

Spaghetti

All you would have to do is cook the above mentioned foods ahead of time and heat them up in your microwave before you put them into your thermos. That way,your food will stay warm in  your thermos and it is much cheaper than fast food!
