I've heard and read that lutein assists with vision health, how does it work in human eyes? I'm doing a paper for a summer class and I need some sources on the web. Thanks.

  1. Leafy green and yellow vegetables contain lutein.  Research has shown that lutein may help people's vision.  Zeaxanthin is another nutrient that may aid eye heath.  Both lutein and zeaxanthin are important components as well as other vitamins for eyes.  I've attached a couple of articles that may help out with your research, the wikipedia link has tons of sources attached to it about lutein.  WebMD has a really good article about how lutein and zeaxanthin play a role to help eyes.  The last link contains other nutrient information for vison.
