The Dutch international has expressed his desire to leave the Eredivisie outfit to pursue his career in a bigger league with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Newcastle United or Borussia Monchengladbach to be his destination.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luuk-de-Jong-c22956, has long been linked with a move away from De Grolsch Veste after consistently putting in mesmerising performances for the past couple of seasons.
Several top European clubs including the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United and Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to acquire the youngster’s services before the 2012/13 season kicks-off.
The prolific hit-man’s agent, Louis Laros, has now confirmed that his client is eager to join a top European club this summer to enhance his skills further.
“Luuk has taken the decision to move on. He wants to develop as a player in a bigger league. The important thing for us is the development of Luuk. Not the money, but the way of playing and the amount of playing time he will get
will be decisive. Luuk scored 25 goals in the Dutch league last season, how many more does he need to score? 35?”, Laros was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
Recent reports in the Dutch media indicated that the Dutch international has signed a contract with German Bundesliga outfit, Borussia Monchengladbach, in a deal believed to be in the region of 11 million Euros.
However, De Jong’s agent has confessed that his client is still contracted at FC Twente, waiting for the right club.
“Luuk is still a Twente player. If the right club comes along then he will happily make the move. The club doesn't need to be a top club, but a good club in a big league where Luuk can play regularly and develop as a player”, Laros
concluded.
The 21-year-old has an ongoing contract at De Grolsch Veste that runs until the summer of 2014. However, with a host of European clubs interested in luring the talented striker away from the Eredivisie outfit, it seems very unlikely
that he would be plying his trade at De Grolsch Veste next term.
Reports indicate that the Tukkers management will not accept anything less than 15 million Euros for De Jong.
