Lydia Hall disappoints her fans with a horrid second round in Dubai
Lydia Hall, a professional golfer and a Welsh national, played a disastrous back nine in the second round of the Majlis course.
The second day of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters was something the Welsh golf professional would prefer to forget, as she carded a 71.
Hall started her proceedings of the second round with a par on the first hole, followed by another par. On the next three holes she made three consecutive birdies, the 3rd, 4th and the 5th holes were the only high points
throughout the round.
Halfway through the Majlis course in the second round, Hall was at a respectable place with a score of 32. The downfall of the professional golfer started on the back nine, as she made three pars and, on the 13th hole, registered a double bogey.
Hall tried to overcome the effect of the double bogey on the next few holes but only managed to score a lone birdie on the back nine, which came in on the 15th hole.
Her second round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters was spoiled by a bad show on the Majlis course.
The Ladies British Masters winner was well prepared for the Dubai-based tournament but the outcome of those preparations was not apparent, as she progressed into the tournament.
Before the start of the tournament, Hall said in a statement that she enjoys playing in Dubai.
The girl from Bridgend added that the Emirates Golf Club is always in a perfect condition and is one of her favourite courses on the tour.
The Glamorgan Ladies’ and Girls Champion of 2004 enjoys a pretty good success rate in Dubai. She has in the past threatened the top players on the leaderboard.
Hall is currently the 15th ranked player on the ISPS Handa Moneylist. She had had an average season so far but is on the lookout for a good performance at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters tournament.
The Welsh player will have to put up an extraordinary game in the third round of the Dubai-based tournament in order to come close to the top of the leaderboard.
The tournament is currently being lead by the 6th ranked golfer in the world, Shanshan Feng.
