Lydia Hall leads second round of Omega Dubai Ladies Master
Lydia Hall carded a 5-under par 67 in the second round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters and is on top of the leader board. This Ladies European Tour event is being held at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai.
The golfer from Bridgend, South Wales posted seven birdies and two bogeys and made her way from opening round's 8th place to the first place.
The Swedish Anna Nordqvist is in second place after posting a 68 on Thursday whereas Denmark’s Iben Tinning is at third place after carding a 69. As for the leader of the opening day Florentyna Parker, she dropped down to tie for tenth place due to the 3
over seventy five that she posted.
Russian Maria Verchenova, who really hopes to retain her playing card for next year, is tied in fourth place with English Melissa Reid and Norwegian Marianne Skarpnord.
The leader of the day, Hall, initiated with a hat-trick of birdies as she shot birdies on the second, third and fourth hole on the front nine. With two more birdies on the 6th and 8th holes, she shot a bogey on the ninth. She initiated
the back nine holes with a bogey on the tenth and finished the second round with two closing birdies on the 17th and 18th holes.  Playing on the European Tour for three years now, Lydia posted her career best when she tied for sixth at
the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco this season.
Hall said she played really solid and the Tee to the green went really, really good. "I just played really solid and the putts, got them rolling. I was really pleased. I made a couple of mistakes on nine and 10 with a three putt on 10, but I just refocused
and gained concentration,” said Lydia Hall.
Hall hasn’t played competitive golf for several weeks but has been working on her game with her coach John Peters. Peters, who acted as her caddie, helped her improve and get back into shape at the Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club. She didn’t even
go to Asia to participate in the tournaments since she was trying to focus on her fitness.
With all that hard work, Hall is looking forward to doing well in the tournament. From the looks of it, Lydia’s hard work is paying and hopefully she can continue her lead throughout the rest of the tournament.
