Lydia Hall wins Inaugural Ladies British Masters
Lydia Hall has won the first edition of the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters. The Welsh golfer played an excellent game throughout the event and managed to impress all with her golf skills.
She began the event with a birdie on the very first hole of the first round. This proved to be lucky for her and she sailed through the tournament without much difficulty. She shot another birdie on the third round and finished the front nine with another
birdie.
The back nine started with a bogey on the tenth hole. Hall soon recovered her form and scored a birdie on the 12th hole. Another birdie on the 14th hole brought her record to five.
She finished this round with two consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. This was her best performance of the tournament where she scored 66 points.
The second round was an average performance where she capitalized on the score of the first round. She hit a bogey on the fourth hole but balanced it with a birdie on the sixth.
Another birdie followed on the ninth hole. The back nine of the second round was evenly balance with two birdies and two bogeys.
The birdies came on holes 10 and 14 while the bogeys were on holes 12 and 17. Her score at the end of the round was 71.
The third round was the most important one, where all the players did their best to move ahead on the leaderboard and finish the event in a good position. Hall shot a birdie on the second hole and then another on the ninth to finish the front nine.
She opened the back nine with a birdie on the 11th hole but shot a double bogey on the 12th hole. This was followed by a bogey on the 13th hole.
Although she scored a birdie after that on the 14th hole but the bogey on the 18th hole was a not-so-great finish for a great golf performance.
Commenting on the win, Hall said, “I’m over the moon, obviously. I’ve been waiting to win a tournament for the last five years since I came on tour. I came in close at Q School and it’s been a while. I’ve done well in Dubai the last few years but obviously
today was one of my first experiences of final group and all of the pressures that come with that”.
