have been having trouble with my lymph node under my jaw. They will swell and hurt like crazy hard to swallow. Then somedays they are hardly even noticable This has been going on for about three month now. I went to the Dr. 6 months ago and had mono so I thought maybe it was just that but I seem to think there is more to this then mono again cause this is not how i felt with mono. PLEASE help and give me direction toward what you think this may be. THANK YOU!

  1. Return to your doctor.  The infection may not have responded to the medication, or a new infection may be causing you problems.. Either way, you need to see your doctor.

  2. get a tonsilectomy as well as your adnoids removed.

Get a refferal from your doctor.

    I had the same problem.

  3. Do you have allergies? I've had hay fever that did that to me.

  4. ok so if it feels painful like there is something inside them it maybe a stone...

i had a bac infection in my throat and it caused my nodes to swell...

but being it comes and goes that is odd...

i'd say the stone... best thing to do i eat and drink things that make your mouth water, chew *** and suck on candy

    2-3 days should help

    if not go to dr

  5. Your nodes can stay swollen for up to 12 months after being sick. There is medication to help with your problem. You should see a different doctor and get another opinion.

  6. Hey get to the Doc hun.Shouldn't let things like this go on for that long.

  7. that lymph node is either your sub-mandibular or sub-mental, not sure exactly where it is besides under the jaw. Viral infections can often persist for months, in many cases hide in your body for a lifetime.

Lymph nodes will always swell and become tender with infection.

Have the doctor run some tests to find out exactly what it is.

If bacterial, run broad spectrum until the specific is found.

Viruses never have a cure, but can be alleviated with the standard dose of sleep, good diet, and exercise. Usually vitamin C and E are recomened.

  8. I hope it's not lymphoma. Go and get a biopsy ASAP. My grandmother died of lymphoma and my best friend got it in his 40s. Better to be safe than sorry. Make an appointment today to rule out the worst case scnerio.
