  1. For me, in practice, lycra suits tend to stretch out within months with continual wear. I wore the same polyester suit to practice twice a day every day for almost a year and it never streched out. The only thing that happens to them is that the lining can come out but that doesn't affect the comfort. Lycra wears out way to fast.

Polyester is also a LOT more comfortable than the lycra suits. Having been through tons of suits I would say that the speedo endurance suits are really the best way to go. They last long, dry quickly, and if there is a pattern, it doesn't fade like lycra. My old lycra suits would usually fade after only a month of wear. My Endurance suits never faded.

  2. POLYESTER. as a competitive swimmer, i go through a lot of suits, both practice and competition. the polyester suits always last way longer. for practice i wear dolfin uglies mainly and they've never faded.

  3. Polyester doesn't wear out, I have some polyester suits from Speedo that I got in 2005 and they are just fine.

Here is where to get some PBT suits from Kiefer, same suits, much cheaper than Speedo brand.
