i have been feeling a lot of movements in my womb,my baby is js so very active....sometmes the kicks surprise me n i jump..m jus worrid if this is normal...if he is very active, does that mean that i may have a premature baby...or deliver before the dates....i also read that after this week, thebaby is said to be viable..that is it has the chances to be born...but under special care.....so this scares me more...is there anything that i can do to not have baby before the date or premature...any suggestions?

  1. it wont cause premature birth,my daughter was never still

  2. There's no such thing as too much movement, and baby's movement is not a sign of nor will it cause cause preterm labor. So don't stress out, you're just fine.

  3. An active baby is great! Much better to feel a lot of movement then hardly any and worry over whether the baby is ok. That really doesn't have anything to do with whether the baby is going to be early or not. Right now he's got a lot of room in ther still so he's taking advantage of it.

  4. Every pregnancy is different. My first felt like she was trying to kick her way out very early on. The second felt like he was doing somersaults. You need to speak to your doctor about your concerns. He/she can better advise you about your concerns.

  5. Being viable means the baby stands a chance of making it with special care if it arrived now.

There's nothing to worry about with having an active baby, my last child (whos 7 weeks) was very active, i felt his first movements at around 12 weeks and by the time he'd reached 20 weeks he wriggled non-stop, either that or constantly had hiccups, his movements were so strong at times they too made me jump and they could be quite uncomfortable. He was 8 days late and perfectly healthy. It's a good thing having lots of movement and means you'll be able to monitor the baby easier then someone who feels little movement.

The chances of your baby being premature are quite slim but there's no way can tell if it will happen or not, equally there is little you can do to ensure it doesn't happen. Just relax, take it easy and enjoy your pregnancy.

  6. it's time to worry when he/she stops moving around in there. If your that worried have a word with your midwife/health visitor/doc, if any thing that will put your mind at rest :). Congratulations and good luck x

  7. Don't fret quite yet, mine is the same way.  She seemed to NEVER stop kicking me and her kicks have always been strong... until one day I woke up and she was too big to kick like she used to.  Now she squirms and wiggles and does on occasional jab, but for the most part she's very active but doesn't have a lot of room to manuever anymore.  I had the fetal monitoring done at about 26 weeks and they told me that she was unusally active for such a young age.  It doesn't mean she'll be premature, but it is indicative that she'll be a squirmy little munchkin when she does arrive.
