M A Wallis was given another chance by Blonde Fletch to sing praises for him after the Derby Purse Grand Final victory
Being the 4/11 ideal of the race, it was foreseeable that Blonde Fletch will grab the spot light by winning the purse worth £1200 with his magnificent performance, and so he did.
The Yarmouth dirt track was all set for the fire in the Derby Purse Grand Final, on the 14th of September.
The 659 meters distance was covered by a pack of 6 hounds, all in urge to win the total prize money worth £1800 for their trainer.
M A Wallis kept his chin up because he knew his brave champ is a real go getter.
The black dog began his triumphant chase from trap 3, wearing white and black jacket.
As he rushed out with an impressive pace, his performance became a threat for the rest of the contenders.
Although throughout the race he railed at the mid position, when he was left with two lengths, the three-year-old took the lead and eventually got hold of the wire, giving a tremendous hit.
Covering the distance in 40.31 seconds, he whitewashed Banba The Face by 3 ¾ lengths, who strived to win against the speedy chase of Blonde Fletch, but unluckily she got defeated.
Finishing second for trainer R H Joyce, the black b***h began her pursuit for the purse from trap 6.
She railed through the track remaining at the mid position. Later on, she greased her elbows and managed to finish second in 40.60 seconds.
Following Banba the Face by 7 ¾ lengths was Heres Hoping, who unfortunately finished third for trainer J E Craske due to his lethargic start.
As trap 4 opened for the young hound, his chase for the purse was not so impressive.
Even though he became really swift with half the fistance left to cover, it was too late for him to cope up with the challenge.
Covering the required distance in 41.22 seconds, Heres Hoping came third.
T W Hunter’s Smooth Ace was 4 ¼ lengths far from the wire, when Heres Hoping finished his chase.
Crossing the line in 41.56 seconds, the blue dog, Smooth Ace, finished third, in the Derby Purse Grand Final.
The trap 5 racer lacked in performance throughout the competition, railing all the way to the end, he remained in the mid position.
Smooth Ace led Cossack Crafty and Aoifes Candy, who had a head to head competition during the race.
Trainer W T Adams’s black dog, Cossack Crafty, raced from trap 1 and reached the wire in 41.59 seconds, whereas the white and black b***h, Aoifes Candy, trained by M A Wallis, was the last one to cross the wire. She took 41.60 seconds to cover the 659 meters
distance.
The Derby Purse Grand Final, entailing a total prize money of £1800, rewarded £1200 to the purse winner, Blonde Fletch, £200 to the runner-up and the rest of the dogs were given £100 each.
