Question:

MAC Make up Question?

I first got a NW 25 Concealer from MAC, and a couple weeks later I bought a NC 25 powder foundation.

I have light skin with pink-ness on my cheeks. I want to tone that down so it just looks like one light color.

Both do a good job of evening out my skin tone.

I want to know - is it okay to apply both at the same time?

NC and NW ?

Or will it make it gross or uneven?

I'm new to make-up.

Thanks.

  1. I'm sure they matched your colors correctly. The difference in NW and NC is that NW (Neutral Warm) is for warmer skin tones with a more pink undertone and NC (Neutral Cool) is for cooler ones, such as skin with a more yellow undertone to it.

The NC should even out your cool skin tone and neutralize the pink in your cheeks, making your skin look more like it's all the same all over. The NW for the concealer is a good combination because it will warm up your problem spots, like the under eye area and is best applied under the foundation you got to make sure they blend together and everything looks even and flawless when you're done. It shouldn't look gross or uneven at all! Using the proper brushes and sponges also makes a difference in the final look of your makeup.

I actually use nearly the same colors myself. I have NC30 foundation and NW25 concealer. I use the lighter shade of concealer to lighten up my under eye circles.

  2. Despite what some people say, not all your colors have to match.

Of course if you were african american using a skin toned foundation but a pale concealer that would be a no no.

Ive used this combination on clients before with good results. Not amazing, but good.

If your new to makeup I wouldnt suggest mac because it will burn a hole in your pocket. Especially if you dont know what your doing.

You might want to expeirament with some drugstore brands first, hope i helped :)

  3. you can mix them together or layer them. they're close enough in shade that it wont make a difference if you wear both.
