Question:

MAC spray to "set" foundation?

has anyone heard/tried this? I recall reading about it vaguely and I remember always dreaming of a magical spray to use to like seal my makeup on. With certain oily areas on my face, I am more prone to foundation rub off than those without oily skin, and then the parts that have little oil barely transfer! If anyone knows what I am talking about and has used it with GOOD results, please reply! And by good, I mean lasting you from the moment you put your makeup on in the morning to the moment you wash it off before going to bed.

  1. yahh.

  2. It's called Mac Fix+. I've never used it, but I use the cheaper alternative, Aquafina's Hydrating Facial Spray. It works really good.

    Hope this helps!

  3. The MAC spray to "fix" foundation is the MAC Fix+ Spray.

The setting of foundation in this case is to SET the makeup/foundation to look more real (for the case you have been applying too much powder upon your face). The set do not refer to as SETTING to PROLONG the makeup.

Most makeup setting sprays that is used AFTER the makeup is applied on have film forming agents in them.

Spraying them upon the face, coats the makeup with a thin layer of hairspray like ingredient over, this film is believed to hold the makeup longer.

    NO SUCH THING.

With facial oil and sweat and humidity, this film will dissolve away.

    REMEMBER:

We CANNOT make the makeup waterproof to SWEAT or Facial Oil.

Sweat and facial oil have enzymes in it, that help dissolves away gunk on the face to protect the skin.

We CAN touch up, mattify and prolong makeup on our skin.

I will lift off what i wrote in another's query from Yahoo! Answers.

Increasing the longevity of the makeup from oily skin has only one way.

    OIL CONTROL.

From what you said, I presume your skin can get super oily during the summer.

To make the makeup last longer,

    1) use a alcohol free toner and massage it on your skin using your fingers. This will soften and prep the skin out for moisturiser.

    2) use an OIL CONTROL moisturiser across the whole face for prolong oil absorbing capability.

    3) use a MATTIFYING makeup base/primer and apply it on the oiler, bigger pore T-zone area.

    4) use a mattifying foundation (like MAC's Studio Fix Fluid) to EVEN out the skin colour. Excess foundation will not make the makeup stay longer

    5) using a sheer super oil absorbing powder (like MAC Blot Powder/Loose or Glomineral's Prefecting makeup) you will see the makeup lasting longer.

  7. There's another spray called 'sea plasma'.

I call it my miracle spray because it's a hair moisturizer, skin moisturizer, AND makeup setter

    and it works amazingly.

I'd never apply makeup without it.
