MAGIC JACK that is advertised on TV, is this LEGAL?

I am a Senior that doesn't know about these kind of things, so please bare with me.I have Time Warners "Road Runner Lite", is that considered high speed? Can you choose your number?Is this good only as a 2nd phone?My phone service (land line) is Time Warners Digital, so do I have to keep that?

It is legal, good for making free calls all over the Country. I wouldn't recommend it for incoming calls. Must leave youjr computer on all the time. Still has a few bugs. No support. Flaky service on occasion. Cuts out if your computer is 'busy' with several applications. Just plugs into a USB port.

I have the MagicJack since it came out last year, but I'm not sure if you would like it!!

I live in N.C. and  when I had sign up last year no NC area codes were available! Now, they have many more area codes, and you can change them one time only for free!

I use the MJ strictly for travel abroad, so I can have an US area-code and at home for a cheap 2nd line!
