  1. There should be a Green/Blue hybrid deck for you in Lorwyn or Eventide, but if not, buy a green or blue deck that you like.  Unless this is your learning deck, you don't really want to use it, you want to build off of it with other magic cards.  Example, if you brought a Lorwyn deck that was Green and White (using this just because I know the deck a little), you would probably want to change some of the defensive cards out with better defensive cards, like oblivion ring, crib swap, or neck snap as they are better suited for the deck.  Maybe try to find a Guilt Leaf Liege and get that in there.  Build off the base to make the deck better.  Getting the pre-fab is fine, but try to find a card or comic shop that also sells individual cards for your deck, because with thousands of cards to choose from and 60 cards in a deck, the possibilities are limitless.

Welcome to MTG and I hope you enjoy the game.

  2. I would work with the eventide blue/green hybrid style.  Green is classic smash and whack color that has numerous abilities to fetch mana you need and blue will make it get through and find openings for the big nasty 7/7 wurm or some other huge creature.  Also blue controls the speed of the game, you decide what goes and what you don't want on the field or even snatch the insolent bugga'.  I would work around that concept and have at it.

And one finally precaution, if you run blue chances are you will be a target because people tend to not like having their 12/12 trample flyer denied existance or being taking from them.
