  1. I would go with something over 5'6" at least... but if you're getting a fish, they tend to ride 1"-2" shorter than regular boards... I would go buy something like a "Lost" Shark, Its just like the fish but a little bit quicker...

  2. generally with a fish board you can get one that's pretty short because by design they are a little wider throughout the nose, mid, and tail, and also a little thicker. if you're 5 ft. then try and get maybe a 5'5" or so. perhaps rent some different size boards first to see what you like.

if you can search for a good used board or have one custom made by your local shaper. good luck!

  3. it doesnt matter how tall you are or your weight its just your choice on the kind of board you want...im 13 and i have 6'2 rusty pirahna shortboard. It also depends on the waves your surfing

  4. Hey, you have already done the right thing, and gone to your local surf shop. I hope it's a surf shop, not a bathing suit store that sells surfboards.

What are you riding now? Do do you want more speed? More maneuverability? Let the guys at the shop work with you on length, since they have already got you looking at fish.
