So the full spread of United’s current players runs from Edwin Van Der Sar, who turns 40 this coming October, right down to the new Italian defender, Michele Fornasier who won't even be 17 until September.
United have very decent youngsters coming out of the academy and with UEFA’s homegrown rule coming into play from 2012, this can come in very handy, but having said that United still needs to buy in the summers in order to put up a decent challenge for the title’s next term. With Berbatov and Carrick heading out of Old Trafford, United certainly needs enforcing not to mention if Hargreaves fails to make a successful comeback and off course VDS can’t go on forever, so even with a decent crop of young blood in their wings United still has to get the cheque books out this summer.
