  1. more medals is better so disagre and #1 is  USA

  2. Home ground advantage count a lot in Olympic (especially in events like Gymnastics where human judgment determines the winner), and China has been traning for this game since she won the hosting right, no surpise as she won the most Gold. If we look at Sports such as Women Weight lifting and Shooting, China won loads of Gold, USA didnt even have any participants in such 'boring' sports.

  3. olympics is not about the usa, its about every people gathering all around the globe to participate & be proud of their country!.  Gold or not, everyone (mean all the tv watchers, audience, children, & athletes  did thier BEST.!

I think whoever got the most gold wins but no matter what everyone who participated are already a WINNER in my heart!

  4. I believe that most gold wins.

  5. I think the USA won, on several levels. If you wanted to count the hardware the USA took home i think you'll find becuz of the team events the USA won they have far and away more overall metals...

  6. Agree but you could have picked a better way to say it

  7. It should be weighted.

If you weigh them 2 - 1.5 - 1 then the US wins.

If you weigh them 3 - 2 - 1 then China squeaks out a victory.

  8. Actually, the medal count and totals are a US Media based phenomenon.  The Olympics are not about a single country winning, but about the best athletes in the world competing in their respective sport. It's like comparing Usain Bolt vs. Michael Phelps. They are both champions in their fields, but not comparable.  Everyone should not worry about what country got the most, but about the individuals representing their countries, and the belief in true sportsmanship and competition.

  9. It doesn't matter what you believe. Reality is that the IOC goes by gold medals, and its been like that for years.

China had the most gold medals by a long shot, ahead of U.S. Face it, it was NOT a close race.

Also, the U.S. has a mixed race. They have the African American, Latin American German American etc. And some races specializes in different sports. China only have one race, and that is Chinese. You gotta give them some credit.

And for the people who rooted' for the U.S, I'm happy for you that you love your country. But there are somethings that you have to get over with.

  10. USA WON lmao don't flame, I'm Chinese myself.

here is how i prove to you USA won, first of it may seems like china's got the most golds 51, and a total count of 100.

however, if you look at the size of their team, they have 600ish people in the olympics, and gained a total medals of 100, that gives us the ratio of 1/6

however, the US, sent a team of 300(if im not mistaken), theyve gotten 110 medals meaning that 1/3 of the people on the team got a medal.

now think for yourself, who's actually winning

  11. diasagree i feel every1's medal should count, gold or not. that way someone who won bronze or silver can say they helped their country in the medal count

  12. If I went to the same competition 100 times and 100 times ended up as runner-up, but you just went to that competition 1 time and was a champion, who is the real winner?  Can I say that I ever won in that competition because I have 100 silver?

Logic just tells us that the country with the most gold tops the table.  Putting it any other way just simply twist the logic, to say my country has the most participants ended up as 5th, and therefore my country won, since gold = silver = copper = 5th = 100th?

  13. yup, the medals ranking goes with the amount of Gold medals won.

  14. the Chinese whupped the tushies of the USA... the USA need to learn to live with it....

  15. calm down, you're giving people with the same thought a really really bad name

the rest of the world goes by gold, so in the rest of the world, china won

  16. I totally agree!

  17. china won

  18. i agree with you. i'm a BIG supporter of China since i am chinese, but i cannot downplay or devalue the performance of the US

  19. Actually the USA won...

  20. the chinese are cool, but taking children from there families to vigorously train them and to staple the idea in their head that this for your country, thats not my kind of thing.

  21. I kind of agree. I think that if you give 3 points for every gold and 2 points for eveyr silver and one point for every bronze, then that should determine which country one. Because it IS important to have a lot of golds, but a country that has, say, over 20 bronze medals and nothing else should still me commended, right? I tihnk my method is a good one and more fair.
