MATH HELP!!!! geometry review! simple yes or no.?

are these equations linear??

1.) y=2x+1

2.) y=3.5x-7x(squared-little 2 on top of 2nd x)

3.) y=6.7-6.7x(squared-little 2 on top of x)

4.) y=9x-3/4

5.) y=3/8x-6

6.) y= -4/5x(squared-little 2 on top of x)

just yes or no.

  1. Linear are 1,and 4 only.

    You can not have x^2 or any x in the denominator to be linear.

  3. Linear equations are 1, 4, and 5 (unless 5 is three over eight x instead of three-eighths x)

    linear equations can't have any x squared
