1. determine the equation of the line described. put an answer in slope intercept form, if possible.

through (4,1), perpendicular to -9x-7y=-43

2.SAME DIRECTIONS

through (3,10), parallel to 5x-2y=7

3. a projectile is thrown upward so that its distance above the ground after t seconds is h = -11t^2 + 484t. After how many seconds does it reach its maximum height?

4.convert to inequality notation. find the endpoints and state wheater the intervals is bounded or unbounded, and its type.

5.SAME DIRECTION AS AbOVE

(-6,-3)

6.solve the inequality.

4x-7<= 8x+5

7. solve.

the area of a square is numerically 4 less than the perimiter. find the length of the side, if the side is greater than 1.

-9x - 7y = - 43 --&gt; y = (-9/7)x + 43/7

Perpendicular line   y = (7/9)x + b

Find b, replace (4, 1) into the equation 1 = (7/9)(4) + b

b = 1 - 28/9 = - 19/9

The equation y = (7/9)x - 19/9

2.SAME DIRECTIONS

through (3,10), parallel to 5x-2y=7

5x - 2y = 7 --&gt; y = 2.5x - 3.5

Parallel line y = 2.5x + b

Find b, replace (3, 10) into the equation 10 = (2.5)(3) + b

b = 10 - 7.5 = 2.5

The equation y = 2.5x + 2.5

3. a projectile is thrown upward so that its distance above the ground after t seconds is h = -11t^2 + 484t. After how many seconds does it reach its maximum height?

Solve 0 = -22x + 484

x = 22

After 22 second

6.solve the inequality.

4x-7&lt;= 8x+5

-12 &lt; = 4x

-3 &lt;= x

Or x &gt;= -3

7. solve.

the area of a square is numerically 4 less than the perimiter. find the length of the side, if the side is greater than 1.

x^2 = 4x - 4

x^2 - 4x + 4 = 0

(x - 2)(x - 2) = 0

x = 2

The lengh is 2
