  1. Any multiple of 4 is, of course, divisible by 4, but every other one is not divisible by 8.

    4, 8, 12, 16, 20 are divisible by 4 but only 8 & 16 are divisible by 8

Since 8 = 2*4, any number divisible by 8 is always divisible by 4

  2. 92 is divisible by 4 since 4*23 = 92 but 92 is not divisible by 8.

However, any number that is divisible by 8 is divisible by 4 since 4*2 = 8.  Let x be any number divisible by 8.  Then x = 8*y where y is another number.  Since 8 is divisble by 4, this means that (4*2)y = 4*(2y) = x so then x is divisible by 4 also.

    Hope this helps you!
