  1. x^2 + 2x - 24 = 0

    (x+6)(x-4) = 0

    x = -6 or x = 4

  2. x^2 + 2x - 24 = 0

    (x + 6)(x - 4) = 0

    x= -6, 4

  3. First of all this is an equation at the second degree as you subtract 24 from the right side you will have :

    2x + x^2 - 24 = 0

    to have a better view, arrange the x^2 (x{squared}) at the first place then the 2x that will make :

    x^2 + 2x - 24 = 0

    Call a=the number of times * x^2

          b = the number of times * x

         c= -24

    you will have o(delta) = b^2 - 4ac = 2^2 - 4*(-24)*1 = 100 <=> makes 10

    Next using delta you will have 2 solutions for x : let's call them X (it's easier)

    X1 = ( -b+delta)/2a

    X2 = (-b - delta)/2a

    Replace them and you'll have

    X1 = 4

    X2 = -6

    Well that's the solution, hope it helps ;))!!!
