I'am 27, mother of a 10yr old, 1 angel baby and I have been off BC since May of this year after being on it for about 5 yrs and have been TTC ever since. My first day of my last menstrual was on June 25,2008. I didnt get a menstrual for the month of July and so far nothing for this month. I have taken several HPT and all came back BFN except one that I took last Monday, i got a BFP, however afterwards I took another and I ended up getting another BFN. I had blood work done on Wednesday of last week and got my results on Friday, it also was a BFN.

So More than likely I had a false positive. But Im wondering if the exams were accurate. I have cramping sometimes severe every once and awhile and my right nipple is discharging a clear liquid when I squeeze, which Im assuming is colostrum. I still havent had a menstrual, Im thinking of going to get a second opinion on my blood work and getting it done again. However I want to know your feed back!

  1. Well I was told by my doctor sometimes going of the pill can cause you to skip periods and have late periods. If you had blood work done and it came back negative you could it could either be to soon to detect or it was really a negative. As for your nipple discharge are you currently taking any medications? Sometimes certain medications can cause your body to do that. If I were you I would wait and see if you get another period and if you don't I would call your doctor and see if you could set up a sonogram to see whats going on. They can do a regular one but they can also to a transvaginal sonogram so that they can see if anything is going on. I had both sonograms because my period was so late but turns out I was just really late because i stopped the bc pill. Def try to get a sonogram tho and make sure everything is okay! Also they will prolly take a culture on the discharge  from your nipple to make sure that there is no blood in it. I wish you the best of luck!!!!! :::::***Baby Dust***:::::

  2. It's possible that you did get pregnant (hence the BFP and a lack of AF), but the baby miscarried (very common in ultra early pregnancy... much more common than most realize).  If so, AF should arrive any day now.

  3. Virtually every woman will have a miscarriage at least once in their lifetime whether they know it happened or not.  Some mistake it as an irregular period.  You don't have to bleed heavy when you have a miscarriage, but at the very least you would/should have a few drops of blood.  If you had a miscarriage and it was still early on so much that the embryo was still microscopic, then, yes, you may have a miscarriage with minimal blood and possibly not even see blood.

There was a reason that your body was making the pregnancy hormone, hCG, that is detected on pregnancy tests.  I don't know, but I am leaning towards miscarriage.

  4. Sorry to hear this, you must be going through h**l. I don't think it's been a false positive, especially since you've been having symptoms.

It sounds to me that you may have possibly had a very early miscarriage. Especially since it took so long to get a BFP. Possibly the egg implanted very late, the longer the egg takes to implant the higher the chance of miscarriage. Sometimes it takes the body a while to register the fact that the pregnancy has failed which is why you might be having symptoms still and no period. Or maybe that it's there's still very tiny amounts of pregnancy hormone in your blood. (Too little to be detected)

Who know though! Until you get your period there's still a little hope. Try going back in a few days to get blood done and see what they say.

  5. bleeding can sometimes take upto 2 weeks in the case of a miscarriage. I would get an internal scan though to make sure that there is either a pregnancy and if it is still OK, if you have got an embrio and do not bleed but the pregnancy is still intact you may need to have it removed.

Usually a period is a way of you body discarding any contents, but is not always the case.

Usually it takes around 3 normal cycles to get back into rhythm, looks like the June AF was a withdrawl bleed, you need to give yourself a little more time for your body to get back to normal.

As for the clear liquid, I have also found this when taking contraceptives, it can appear to look like colostrum. Its not however, just a creamy discharge because of the hormones.

Anyway good luck and keep us posted, and enjoy making the baby it;ll be worth the wait.

  6. Get a second opinion.

  7. sounds like a pregancy, yes, deffinatley get a second opinion. false positives are rare. www.peeonastick.com

    good luck =)

  8. I would definitely go get a second opinion. It almost sounds like you could have miscarried or had a chemical pregnancy. I false positive is extremely rare. I would ask for a vaginal ultra sound instead of just blood work. Good luck and I hope that everything turns out ok for you...keep us posted.

  9. Hi I think you are Preggo because you have all the symptoms, i don't know why your blood exam take too long.  Please let us know if you are ++++ and God help you with the anxiety.
