My boyfriend and I have broken up in the past, but for the most part we have an awesome relationship. We got into a huge blowout last night and he broke up with me. We have not talked, and I am just straight messed up. I am trying to not call or text, it is hard. HE does this c**p every once in a while but it usually only lasts a few hours, then he stops being a baby.I have talked to a few people that know us, and they all say we will get back together and that he can not stay away. But what itf it is real this time? By the way he is 24, I am also. We have been together for four years and I have a six year old daughter and he has a 5 year old son.

  1. More than likely, yall will end up together since you say he does this every now and then. Yall need to find a better way to resolve yall's problems.

  2. Does the term "dysfunctional" mean ANYTHING to you??

If you two are having fights that big that end up with one or the other of you walking out or breaking up or whatever you want to call it, then it's time for counseling.  There's obviously a communications breakdown going on!

Clearly you care about him, but if he does this every so often, that tells me he's very immature and more interested in getting his own way than worrying about the future.

If (and probably when) he comes back you should sit him down and tell him it's time you got some help.  This is certainly the stage for intervention before things get so damaged that they can't be repaired.

  3. I would talk to him and tell him that if he wants to keep breaking up then he can call you when he is ready for a real relationship. Who wants to be in a relationship with someone that is constantly breaking up with them everytime they fight? People fight and say things that they dont mean but you cant breakup everytime otherwise you might as well not have a frickin relationship. Tell him that he is 24 years old and to start acting like it, cause right now he is stuck in highschool stages again! Good luck!

  4. why do you want this kind of high school drama in your life?  You're too old to be playing these kinds of love me/hate me games AND you have children involved in this mess!  your on again/off again BS is stressful to them.

if he's not you daughter's father then cut him loose and look for a stable relationship.

Date whomever you want but don't introduce your dates to your daughter until you know that they will be hanging around for about 15 or 16 more years.

Right now you're showing his son that men can behave like babies in their relationships and the women will take them back everytime they come crawling back.  Best case you're setting the boy up to have his heart shattered the first time he pulls that c**p on a strong woman and worst case you're teaching him how to manipulate weak women for his own personal convenience.

you're showing your daughter that she has to put up with stupid BS to have a man.

  5. and he does this c**p when he gets ready to go get some strange! been there done that, trust me its easier to go get some when your main one is pissed@you!,no phone calls, where have you been?etc...

  6. He sounds like he hasn't grown up yet and is not ready for the responsibility of being a parent.  You simply have to decide whether you want to put up with that or find someone more emotionally mature.  The people who know you both may say that you will be getting back together but that may be because that is what they think you want to hear.  Remember that he left the mother of his 5 year old and now after being together 4 years he may be trying to get away from you.  Sounds like you need to get some counseling either together to save the relationship or alone to decide whether you are putting up with him or need to change yourself in some way.  Good Luck to you.
