  1. price range - hundai over mazda

  2. That depends on the model and how well it is maintained.  The new engines should give you more than 100,000 miles.

  3. I have a 94 Mazda Protege with 98,000 M  and still runs great. The Mazda 3 is the modern version of the same car. As was stated before, most any car will last over 100,000 miles with standard care, and 200,000 to 300,000 with TLC.

  4. I'm with p32... drive easy and take care of it...to many idiots don't check oil...tranny fluid,,,tune it,,,other stuff and say "mazda/other car is c**p"   YOU can't go 100K and not open the hood..

  5. Yeah, they are great cars. I have one with over 136,000 miles.

A friend of mine had one with over 235,000 miles.

    No major problems so far.

That least guy who said Ford Owns them. Ford owns 33.5 percent of Mazda.

Mazda's are still designed and made by the Japanese. Nothing has changed with Mazda's. However, the new Ford Fusion and Ford Focus are copies of Mazda's. Ford uses Mazda engines and chassis and suspension is their cars because Mazda's are better.

  6. Mazda is owned by Ford since the mid 90s if I'm not mistaken so the latest models aren't that great. You should look into Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Honda, they are in a decent price range and will definitely last for 10 -15 years if you keep maintenance on the dot.

  7. It all depends on the model. Some are historically good while others aren't good at all. The Mazda 323/Protege/3 are the best in reliabiolity in my opinion. They are definitely on par with Honda and Toyota and they are a lot more fun to drive. Mazda 626/6 models aren't the greatest with the Mazda 6 being much better than it's 626 predecessor in terms of reliability. There are other really good cars- like the Mazda 929 and Millenia that never were recognized for the great vehicles they were on a large scale. Generally, the cars that had the bad reputation like the Mazda 626 (tranny problems or headgasket problems depending on year) and the RX7/RX8 models (possibly lack of care on these high maintenace engines). Those are the models you ususally hear about. Overall, Mazda's a good company.

  8. Nearly any car will last 200,000 miles as long as you keep up with maintenance.

  9. I wouldn't consider it as such. As far as I know Toyota's almost always fail in the early to mid 200Ks, Hondas last a bit longer at up to something like 300K and Nissan's V6 last forever at least on the engine internals. I would expect Mazdas and Mitsubishis to last way shorter seeing as Mazda is part of Ford and do often exchange parts or designs (the Ford Probe is a Mazda for example) and Mitsubishi does alot of work with Chrysler resulting in engines like the 420A ending up in the Eclipse RS while Mitsubishi's two sports car engines that it made (6G72 and 4G63) also have proven unreliable.

In my opinion if you want gas mileage go Honda. If you like going fast and having your car last forever go Nissan.

  10. it'll run.  the mazda 3 has one of the better reliability reps in the industry.  truth is, if you change the oil every 3k, you'll probably have it til 400k if you want to hold it that long.

  11. i have a 2006 Mazda 3. I still have it..because i take really good care of it..i look under the hood once a week and the minute a promble comes up i take it to get looked at (i am not very good with cars). So keep on top of your car (any car) and it will last you a long time
