MBBC Jr International: Chad Naramore-Shawn Whong make it to Boy’s Doubles U19 final
Chad Naramore and Shawn Whong, the spirited shuttlers from USA, penetrated into Boy’s Doubles U19 final after showing a brilliant performance against Guatemala’s Adams Rodriguez and Brandon Samayoa in semi-final contest at the 2012 MBBS Jr International on Wednesday, July 18, in USA.
The impressive Naramore and Whong showed their tremendous skills on court and they managed to beat their opponents after putting up a superb show of top quality badminton.
The in-form Naramore and Whong played at their best speed and easily took the opening set but failed to maintain their rhythm in the following game.
Nevertheless, the USA shuttlers delivered a phenomenal performance in the final game and wrapped up victory with a decent margin.
Rodriguez and Samayoa, on the other hand, could not find a good start but they showed their brilliance in the second game to make the score levelled. However, they could not dominate the pace in the final set and lost the battle in three games.
The opening games was lopsided when Naramore and Whong were dominant on court as they played with impressive aggression and did not show any respect to their opponents in opening half.
Until the mid-game interval, Naramore and Whong were sailing smoothly while remaining miles ahead on score board.
After the break, Naramore and Whong continued their positive performance and wrapped up opening game with a surprising easy by a staggering margin of 21-9.
However, it was a different story in the second game as Rodriguez and Samayoa showed their brilliance by playing attacking badminton this time and set up a good lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Naramore and Whong tried to change the tempo of game but failed to bridge the gap and lost the set with a 15-21 score on the board.
In the final set, Naramore and Whong found their rhythm back as they played with aggression and controlled the driving seat while remaining ahead on the board until the break.
After the interval, Naramore and Whong remained on track and easily ended up the final set with a spectacular margin of 21-16.
Naramore and Whong won this Boy’s Doubles battle in rubber games with an interesting margin of 21-9, 15-21 and 21-16.
