MBBC Jr International: Marius Fartum tames Franklin Ramirez to ease into Boy’s Singles U22 final
Norway’s Marius Fartum continued his gutsy performance and eased into Boy’s Singles U22 final after giving a severe lesson to Guatemala’s Franklin Ramirez in semi-final showdown at the 2012 MBBC Jr International in USA, on Wednesday, July 18.
The higher ranked Marius, who is top seed in Boy’s Singles U22 category in the tournament, showed a strong character as he did not spare any chance for his un-seeded rival to put up strong resistance and easily registered a comprehensive victory on the board.
The top seeded Fartum was in pretty good control of the pace as he remained in commanding position throughout the contest and easily thrashed his lower ranked opponent with a stunning difference.
On the other hand, Ramirez was shocked with the cruel treatment he received from his Norwegian opponent. He failed to play positive badminton and also remained struggling in taking the bird early which caused him suffer from a humiliating defeat from the
hands of Fartum.
The Norwegian player was one class above his rival in all aspects of the game as he was perfect in making right choice of shots and also executed his strokes with wonderful accuracy.
The positive and fast play of Fartum helped him to set up an amazing lead against Ramirez until the end of first half.
After the break, Fartum remained consistent in his smooth sailing on court as he did not slow down his speed and maintained impressive difference on score board.
The in-form Fartum dictated his rival in all areas and commanded the rallies throughout the opening game and eventually won it with a startling margin of 21-7.
The lofty Fartum continued putting up a staggering performance in the second game by playing at the same speed. He again was the one who took a stunning lead until the break.
After the interval, Fartum remained on tack without having any trouble from his challenger and ended up the set in an inspiring way by a huge margin of 21-7.
Fartum emerged as the winner against Ramirez in the semi-final battle with a staggering 21-7 and 21-7 score on the board.
