MBBC Jr International: Rochelle Ng trounces Alice Liu to move into Girl’s Singles U19 final
USA’s Rochelle Ng made her home fans happy as she penetrated into Girl’s Singles U19 final after delivering a spectacular performance against Alice Liu of Chinese Taipei in semi-final clash at the 2012 MBBC Jr International in USA, on Tuesday, July 17.
The local shuttler Rochelle, who is sixth seed in Girl’s Singles U19 draw of the championship, was in full swing as she continued her giant killing run and thrashed the seventh seeded Alice without dropping any game.
The higher ranked Rochelle displayed her incredible skills in opening game and took it in a one-sided manner. She remained on track in the following game and overpowered Alice by winning it with a decent margin.
On the other hand, the seventh seeded Alice could not maintain her winning performance on court as she was too vulnerable for her aggressive local opponent and crashed out without snatching any set from Rochelle.
Right from the opening points of first game, Rochelle registered her supremacy on court by playing aggressive and positive badminton and pushed Alice on back foot.
The USA player was incredibly fast on court and she did not take much time in constructing a huge difference on board until the one-minute interval.
The aggressive Rochelle continued her staggering performance after the one-minute interval as she did not drop down her speed and eventually remained successful in grabbing the first set in a phenomenal manner with a completely one-sided score of 21-5.
However, the Taipei shuttler played much better badminton in the second game as she matched the pace of rallies while taking the bird early and also remained close to Rochelle until the mid-game interval.
After the one-minute break, Rochelle changed her tactics at net and started to play deceptive shots with impressive control.
The in-form Rochelle did not let her opponent to catch up the score at any stage in the ending phase of second game and easily won it with a five-point margin of 21-16.
Rochelle ended up the winning run of Alice at the semi-final stage by beating her with an inspiring difference of 21-5 and 21-16.
