MCA plays down concerns over the India-England One-Day match at Wankhede stadium – Cricket News Update
The Mumbai Cricket Association officials, on Wednesday, played down reports that the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai might not be hosting the third One Day International of the upcoming five-match ODI series between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013,
as the venue is yet to receive a full Occupation Certificate (OC) from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The MCA joint secretary, Nitin Dalal, told media reporters that the association’s architect is due to meet the BMC officials on Thursday, and hoped the venue would get an OK report.
"There's no problem in hosting the tie. Our architect Shashi http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Prabhu-c82409 is to meet the officials of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation tomorrow," said Nitin Dalal while talking to media reporters on Wednesday.
The Wankhede Stadium of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 was given a provisional occupation Certificate earlier this year so that it could host the mouth watering World Cup and IPL contests; however, it has been reported that the renewed storm water drainage system is still
under construction and it is unlikely that the venue would get the OC before the work is complete.
When questioned over reports that the venue is unlikely to get the Occupation Certificate, a fuming official of Mumbai Cricket Association said that the question should be put towards the reporter who broke the story.

"I don't want to comment or react,” replied the official in an annoyed tone. “Kindly ask the person who has issued the news report. He seems to be better informed than me," he added further.
Meanwhile, a BMC official said that they had pointed out the slow progress on the storm water drainage system, asking the MCA to speed up the repair work but the association did not take the necessary steps.

Massive renovation of the Wankhede Stadium started in 2009 and the venue did not host a cricket match for more than a year and a half before the BMC issued a provisional OC earlier this year to allow the association to host the allotted World Cup and
IPL games. The ground is also scheduled to host a Test match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 next month.
