Are there any mandatory requirement courses that have to be taken before taking the MCAT? Or is it more like AP Exams where they say that it is recommended to take whatever courses but it is not necessary.

  1. There are no mandatory requirements that have to be taken before taking the MCAT; however, there are mandatory requirements for medical school.  These requirements vary from school to school.  While they're not mandatory requirements, you should consider taking these courses before the MCAT (they're also required for admission to med school): General Chemistry 1 and 2 (with labs), General Biology 1 and 2 (with labs), Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (with labs), Introductory Physics 1 and 2 (with labs), and 6 credits of English.  The MCAT is comprised of content from these courses, so it's a really good idea to take them before you take the MCAT.  Other courses that are recommended (and may be required by certain med schools) include: Calc 1, Introductory Stats, Human Physiology, Genetics, and Biochemistry<--these courses are likely to help you on the MCAT as well.
