MD-80 comfortability?

Question

I'm flying American from LGA-DFW in a few days. Unfortunately, I was not able to choose my seat, and got put in the back in row 29 and 31 (MD-82). These seats are next to the engines, and from what I hear, it's a very uncomfortable ride. Has anyone ever flown in the back of any MD-80? If so, how bad was the flight? I hear the galley is also bothersome.

First off the MD82 is a noisy aircraft, And luck you, You get to hear all about the flight attendants life and problems. Have a nice flight.

You can check out if the seats assigned are bad on www.seatguru.com.

When you arrive, see if you can change seats.  Maybe the flight isn't as full as you think.

At least the flight attendants talk to each other unlike the pilots up front who have no personalities whatsoever!!!!
