MD of company is this a title

i own a company of which i am MD. I was just wondering if this is a proper title. And can it be used like John Smith MD or MD John Smith

  1. No, it's just your position within the company, it is not a title that you can use in correspondence etc.


  2. MD is managing director, If you where the CEO you could be:

    john smith CEO

    but as aforementioned "john smith MD" is for a medical doctor

  4. You could not use the initials MD, because people would think you are claiming to be a medical doctor.

    You could use your full title, whatever it is that "MD" stands for:

    John Smith, Managing Dictator

    John Smith, Marketing Drone

    etc.
