i'm doing a web search for different sites that make, sell and engrave medical i.d. bracelets. There's quite a few.

The most known companies are expensive if you want one that looks nice. I don't want one with a emblem that stands out way more than the bracelet. Thats why i just wonder if hospitals make it a point to really look.

They all have the medical emblem but all a little different.

i do have some very serious conditions but i'm also a little vain.

  1. I am a CCMA

They have the large medical emblem to show medical personnel that you have health issues... They are not for show they serve a

Stop being vein and selfish.. If you want pretty they will not even look at it they will assume it is a piece of jewelry

  2. good for you for being vain!!!!

i had the same problem, so now i carry it in my purse/wallet as they usually look in there for your ID. also you can get a pendant for a necklace so that way you could chose the can but have it long enough so its below the neck line of your top!! or your attach it to your watch strap.

i love the way people think that if your ill you have to where something that makes you stick out like an idiot, perhaps they would prefer if we had a medy alert tattooed on our foreheads!!!

  3. I hate my medical alert bracelet also, and they are expensive.  What I did was go into a store that exclusively sold beads and I designed my own. I even attatched some charms, I think it looks nicer than when I ordered it from the company. Also just buy the stainless steel version, there cheaper and now you know how toglam them up

  4. "Medic Alert" is a copyrighted phrase for one company.  Everybody uses it anyway.

You can get a fairly good one for not that many bucks.

I bought a 2 tone emblem (titanium and steel) and had a jeweler attach an old 14 Kt gold bracelet to it.

If you go that route, make sure the jeweler puts the clasp on so that it hooks directly on the emblem.  Gravity will always pull the emblem down, so when that happens, you'll have a nice bracelet to look at; not just  a clasp.

I chose the gold and silver "classic."

  5. You're not vain.  You just don't want the whole world to know you have a medical condition!  I'm right there with you. :0)

When I first started to wear a medic alert thing i had a bright red necklace and people would ask me about it all the time.  I decided to get a bracelet and that has worked out much better.  I have a plain silver bracelet that is obviously a medic alert one based on its shape, but it doesn't have a huge colorful emblem on it.  Medical personal always recognize it, but i haven't had any one else notice it.

      Hope this helps!  :0)

  6. I have a sterling silver Medic Alert bracelet.   Has vital information.  I never take mine off!!      I wear mine on my right wrist since most people are right handed.

  7. you are a bit vain?  Well, to be honest, I wouldnt want to do something that would defeat the purpose.  If it looks like a jewelry piece, I wouldnt look at it.  Then why wear it if it doesnt look like a medical alert bracelet.  Did you ever wonder why the medical alert has an emblem that sticks out more then the bracelet?

  8. I'd go with Medic Alert.  You can get a necklace (on a longer chain)that won't show as much as a bracelet if you wish.  Don't worry about whether or not we will see it.  We will.

  9. In a situation where you may not be able to talk and give doctors information, this bracelet can do that for you.  Most of the time an IV will go into your arm, there is where your bracelet is located.

    Don't trade pain for vain.
