If so, why and for how long?

How did you deal with it in regards to how did you explain this to your girlfriend? And how did you want her to act?

Did it change how you felt towards you girlfriend?

work is alot of the time number 1 no matter what because if we want to go places or go on dates, we must work to make the money for it...and the more money we have, the more fun we can usually have.

When you are in a relationship work is a viscious circle. You need the money to take her out, to get the money you work.  Relationship gets serious and you want your own home, you need to work longer and longer hours, dont see your other half as much as you should because you are always at work, she gets fed up sitting staring at 4 walls while you work all that over time.

You can either settle for just a job, or you work at building a career. If you go for the career option long hours will likely go with the territory for the first few years at least.

It can affect relationships badly though as you tend to get impatient with trivia. You come home after a 12 hour or more day and your girlfriend chatters on about some little incident in Coronation Street - you look at her and wonder what planet she lives on.
