MENTAL PEOPLE ACROSS THE STREET?

Okay Well last week my parents threw out my brothers old bike and i thought he still wanted it, so i wanted to be a hero and try to find it.. and i see this guy who lives across the street from me he has the bike right and i thought he stole it.. so i went up to him and started swearing , i know it was wrong but yeah

and then i think he got pissed off so yesterday when i was playing basketball with my friends he brought a hammer and was coming towards me.. he started swearing in mandarin and then he really whacked the hammer at me.. luckily i dogged it.

Should i call the cops? What if he comes at me again ? I know its my fault but what if he trys to hurt me again??

Why would you think he stole it if you knew that your parents threw it away? You should apologize to him and tell him that you were wrong. Maybe then he will stop trying to hit you with a hammer.

Call the cops.  No question, A guy comes after you days later and takes a swing at  you with a deadly weapon?  What if he had hit you?

Have him locked up, get a restraining order.  Swear words are nothing.

I would definitely tell the authorities that the man did that. That is not normal  behavior for anyone. Even if it was your fault to start yelling, no one should react like that. You should file a complaint at the most, and at least and definitely get some information on him, he might have a mental illness that you weren't aware of that would make him do that. You never know, what if he comes at you again when you don't expect it, and aren't able to dodge it? Not worth it. Tell the cops.

Aside from swearing, did you go up to him in a threatening manner?  Did you threaten him in any way, aside from accusing him of stealing?  If so, you may have scared him and he feels the need to protect himself.  You should defiantly clear the air and apologize to him.  Misunderstandings can turn into bad situations.
