alright so we all heard what clint said about michael saturday night " HE IS THE WORST DRIVER NASCAR HAS EVER HARD " well i thought there you go clint calling him a bad driver he has 2 dayona 500 victorys you have 0 he built his own race team you are driving for someone and i am getting SICK of people saying he cant drive ANYONE CAN DRIVE A RACE CAR you have to have good crew members so stop saying he cant drive look a JIMMIE JOHNSON he raced for Roger Pinskee for 3 years and didnt even had a top 10 finish in that whole time then he went to Hendricks and won a championship

bottom line is anyone can drive a race car you have to have that one special person to make it happen that key word is *** CREW CHIEF ***

thats all michael waltrip is lacking

ok now the question -

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CLINTS COMMENT DO YOU THINK ITS THE DRIVER OR THE CREW CHIEF???

also MWR in 2007 they only made half of the races that season best finish - 13 (david reuttemann) now

this season 2008 waltrip and david has made ever race this year and best finish 2nd (waltrip ) and david has been on FIRE these last 4 weeks he is starting great almost had 2 poles and is finishing in the top 15 the last 3 weeks

DO YOU THINK MWR IS COMING AROUND AND HOW LONG TILL YOU THINK THE TEAM GETS ITS FIRST WIN AND WITH WHO DRIVING ???

  1. don't forget he added "i can't believe napa signed on with him [waltrip] for another year." i know he was mad and all, and i'm sure he didn't think they'd broadcast that to the world, but tons of people were still listening in (ok, dozens - his friends, his family, his crew chief, his spotter, the guys in the booth, and his fan probably). he had to guess that word might get around to mikey somehow.

way to go clint - way to talk about the guy who will soon be commenting from the booth about you (or not) during races or during shows like monday's "this week in nascar." i'll start listening to "chuckles" when he takes his foot out of his mouth and uses it on the accelerator to win a few more races and/or a daytona 500 or two.

then again, look who's talking. my guy called another competitor a horseface...

    ;-)

  2. Wow, Michael Waltrip is a little older than Clint for one. He's been racing longer, so yeah he's won the Daytona 500 a couple times before. So you shouldn't be so quick to judge Clint on that. His career isn't over yet, it's just now beginning. He may very well end up winning a couple of Daytona 500's one day, and he may open up his own NASCAR team one day. So you need to re-evaluate things here. Michael has been racing alot longer than Clint and is like 15 years older than Clint. Why don't you just sit back and wait and watch and see where Clint is in 15 years before you go judging him.

And to answer your questions... Clint was 100% correct.

Michael Waltrip needs to retire from racing and just concentrate on being a team owner.

And "no" MWR is no where near close to "coming around". That team would be alot better if Michael would retire and put his energy into the team as a whole rather than into still trying to race in the races.

  3. It's a team sport so I don't think you can just pick one individual. I think MW must be either impatient or a hot head because there have been too many times I've thought he should have lifted in a given situation and he doesn't and wrecks. It's frustrating, but I think David R. will do good....Sorry BiggieB I didn't know how to spell Reutimann.

  4. My real questions is "Did ESPN really mean for Clint's comments to be broadcast over the air?" I know they said let's hear what Clint thought, but they act kind of stunned when he called Michael the worst driver in NASCAR. Michael is mostly just struggling with Toyota. That and because of the fact he is struggling he gets mired back in the pack and usually gets caught up in the accidents early in the race.

I'm glad you've stuck behind him, though. He did finish 2nd at New Hampshire, so maybe next year they will come on strong. MWR has made a huge improvement from last year to this year so it's only a matter of time before luck falls on their side.

  5. Waltrip isn't a good driver...He only has 4 career victorys and it took him almost 500 races to win his 1st race...One of his Daytona wins was because of a rain shortend race and the others were because all the other drivers wrecked or he stayed out while the other guys pitted with a couple laps left.

  6. Clint was just mad. That wreck was clearly not Waltrip's fault. I like Mikey but I don't think he'll drive much longer. Maybe one or two more years. His future is as a team owner and a broadcaster. I think Reutiman and some as yet unknown young hotshot will be the future of MWR.

  7. Bobby K, you said David R will do good.  David Ragan?  do you know something i don't?

  8. Well whether ESPN meant to air those comments or not they did. In the heat of the moment alot of drivers say things they may wish later they didn't, I have hot pass and from what I saw Micheal's spotter told him he was clear..I am sorry but when you have limited sight and movement you have to trust those who are there to help.

  9. No and not for a very long time. But, hey, look at the bright side, you're giving out free points.

  10. It makes it hard to believe anything C**t Bowyer says

  11. I like Mikey. Napa gave him one more year in '09 so I'm going to also. I will still be a Mike fan when he quits driving.

I also like Bowyer and his comments don't change that. I agree with "bestanswer". I dont think the ESPN crew new he was going to say that. I thought they handled it pretty good and Dale Jarrett explained it nicely.

It was NOT Mike's fault anyway. Here's what happened. Casey Mears stated afterwords that his spotter said "clear-clear-clear" so he moved up and Mikey was there. Mears was mad at his spotter.

Clint Bowyer had no idea what really happened at that time and made the comment like 3 seconds after the wreck!

  12. i think waltrip is very talented, he runs his own team. the reason he doesn't do good anymore i think is because he doesn't have the money for the best equipment the other teams have.
