  1. You don't need a contract from the state to rent out a house... are you looking for a lease contract for your tennant to sign??  You need to be REALLY careful here, there are templates EVERYWHERE, but you should know your rights/legal obligations as a landlord, and THEIR rights as a tennant.  I suggest learning about this stuff IN DEPTH before entering this sort of contractual relationship.  For instance, do you know about your states regulations on lead paint?  Even if you DON'T have lead paint in your house, many states require that you give tennants info on it.

You REALLY don't want to go into this blindly.  Here is a community you can chat with, I reccomend joining a group so you can get a mentor, and read some books.  There are links on this site for contract TEMPLATES as well.

    Good Luck

  2. This may help you as a landlord.  I suggest joining a local REIA, then you would have access to assistance from various professionals.  Most are less than 150 a year.

I don't think there is a rental form available from the State, but check this booklet

  3. I am a landlord in MI.  I have a lease that was written by a judge.  He wrote it to show landlords what he expects to see in a valid lease with all the MI laws covered.  If you would like a copy, please email me.
