MINI Cooper Safety?

I've been thinking of getting a MINI and I'm concerned about the safety. Has anyone seen a MINI in a crash? How does the car hold up in a crash? I'm particualrly worried about the safety of the rear occupants in a rear end collision.

  1. They seem to be fine.  IIHS gives them good rating (best possible) for frontal impact.  Acceptable rating (second best) for side impact.  See links for the ratings and for a video of the actual test (you can actually see crash tests for a wide range of vehicles)


  2. I have never seen one in person but I would say from looking at them that the rear passengers would be definitely hurt very bad if in fact the vehicle was hit from the rear because of the limited space that there is, you can also try this site and see what they have to say.
