MLB 2011 Pre-season Team Rankings - Part 2
Number 10 - Colorado Rockies
The 10 year mega deal with Troy Tulowitzki will definitely help them into the limelight but that does not mean the Rockies would be able to make any great contributions to the series.
Number 11 - St. Louis Cardinals
This team is a very average team, not performing too bad but not doing anything spectacular either. The additions of Lance Berkman and Ryan Theriot should help them better their offence. Except for Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina, there are not many expectations
from the rest of the team and that leads to added pressure on the duo to perform which has always resulted in poor performances rather than improved ones.
Number 12 - Milwaukee Brewers
They had the fourth worst save percentage of 62.5 last season but still failed to learn their lesson and try to improve their bullpen. They added Zack Greinke and Shawn Marcum to their rotation in an attempt to improve.
Number 13 - Los Angeles Angels
The Angels did not perform any major moves in the off-season besides the signing of Scott Downs. They seemed to be prepared as their MVP player Kendry Morals would be back this season after his injuries during a walk last season and hopefully he will be
able to perform worthy of a MVP star.
Number 14 - Detroit Tigers
Victor Martinez is definitely an intelligent move on the Tigers part. He will definitely help the Tigers go a notch further but he needs to focus on his hitting first. The Tigers have a decent team and are looking for a good performance this season.
Number 15 - Los Angeles Dodgers
Although the loss of Joe Torre will be felt by the Dodgers, it will probably be soothed by the arrival of Juan Uribe and Jon Garland. The Dodgers are always unpredictable and will be looking to put in a good performance during their regular season campaign
Number 16 - Tampa Bay Rays
The team just hasn’t managed to pull it together after the mass exodus out of Tampa in the off season. They probably won’t be able to reach anywhere near the World Series, or perform like they did in 2008, where they were the World Series runner-ups.
Number 17 - Toronto Blue Jays
They did not make any significant move in the off-season so they would end performing like they did last time. It will be another parallel season for the Blue Jays.
Number 18 - Washington Nationals
Adam Dunn who hit 36 home-runs in 2010 is replaced by Jayson Werth, an above-average defensive outfielder. If they manage to acquire Derrek Lee like they intend to, he might help them learn from the errors they made in the National League 2010.
Number 19 - Oakland Athletics
Not that it would make a difference as to how far the Athletics manage to get in the game, but the acquisition of David Dejesus might improve the almost worst offence in all of Major League Baseball teams.
Number 20 - Florida Marlins
Javier Vazquez and Omar Infante are decent players but they do not have enough to offer. The Fish will just have to try trust their luck and hope that they leave some sort of impression in the competition.
